I must admit, whenever I get a request to incorporate bright colors for a wedding, I get extremely excited. Colorful weddings can be intimidating because you need to have the right mix of colors. However, if you know how to match those colors up, the end result is a stunning wedding.
This past September, I had the honor of designing for an amazing couple. Have I mentioned that September weddings are becoming my new favorite? Anyway, I digress. This wedding was special to me because the groom is from my home country, Costa Rica. We found that out during our initial phone consultation and when that connection was made, I just had to work with them. I had to! To my great pleasure they booked us and we got to day dreaming up the most amazing day.
They hosted a micro wedding at The Line Hotel in Washington D.C. This 15 person wedding was something out of a fairy tale. The attention to detail was impeccable and we worked with the most amazing team of vendors. We incorporated tropical wedding flowers to pay homage to the groom's culture and designed the most beautiful tablescape we have ever created. Complete with acrylic name cards, blue wine glasses and colorful charger plates, this table design was a dream.
They married out on the deck of their suite with the closet of family and friends by their side. They opted for an asymmetrical arch design with two large isle markers to ground the ceremony backdrop. This truly was an event of a lifetime. Captured beautifully by Kyla Jeannette and planned by Laura Louise Events And Design, I hope you enjoy this beautiful wedding as much as we did.
