Shanda Zelaya
Shanda began her journey with floral design in August of 2016 when she founded Flor de Casa Designs. Since then, she strives to work with clients to visualize and actualize their dream wedding designs. She says...

She and her husband became first-time parents in 2022 and when not immersed in design, she enjoys time with family and friends and attempts to hop on a plane to anywhere in the world whenever she can (yes, now with baby in tow).
The Plan
We’ll kick off the morning with a flower farmer chat, diving into the world of local flowers. Learn directly from growers about their process, the beauty and challenges of seasonal blooms, and how to source locally in a way that’s both efficient and sustainable for your business.

Next, Shanda will guide a deep-dive discussion on foam-free mechanics, the behind-the-scenes planning required for large-scale installations, and how to price and pitch these impactful designs to clients. She'll share real-world examples to help you build confidence and clarity.

Then, the hands-on magic begins: we’ll roll up our sleeves and create large-scale floral installations together. These designs are crafted with weddings and event applications in mind — providing you with both practice and portfolio-ready content to use right away.
Throughout the day, every detail will be professionally photographed and documented by Emily, giving you beautiful images to showcase your work and tell the story of your growth and artistry.
