About
Shanda Zelaya
Shanda began her journey with floral design in August of 2016 when she founded Flor de Casa Designs. Since then, she strives to work with clients to visualize and actualize their dream wedding designs. She says...
"I lead the work on my designs with the understanding that the value is always in the details. They matter most. And perhaps because I consider my craft to be an interactive fine art experience, it comes naturally for me to make arrangements that keep my clients’ unique tastes and preferences at the heart of every design."
She and her husband became first-time parents in 2022 and when not immersed in design, she enjoys time with family and friends and attempts to hop on a plane to anywhere in the world whenever she can (yes, now with baby in tow).

The Plan
We’ll kick off the morning with a guided walkthrough of the full ceremony installation, diving into the structure behind a modern draped backdrop. You’ll learn how to think through scale, mechanics, and design intention when building large-impact ceremony pieces that feel both elevated and cohesive.
Next, Shanda will lead a deep-dive discussion into installation mechanics, including how to approach structural builds, work with draping elements, and translate design concepts into executable event installations. She’ll also share insights on sourcing, flower processing for longevity, and how to efficiently operate from a small studio space.
Then, the hands-on work begins: we’ll collaborate on building the full ceremony backdrop before transitioning into creating structural, modern bridal bouquets. These designs are intentionally crafted to push you beyond traditional styling and help you build confidence in more editorial, sculptural floral work.
Throughout the day, your work will be captured in a styled, editorial setting — including both installation and bouquet designs — giving you a range of high-quality imagery and behind-the-scenes content to showcase your portfolio and creative growth.
